Anyi, Nanchang, Jiangxi, Chinaسلسله شیا چین (از حدود 2070 تا حدود 1600 قبل از میلاد اولین سلسله از سه سلسله است که در سوابق تاریخی باستانی مانند سوابق تاریخ نگار بزرگ سیما کیان و سالنامه های بامبو شرح داده شده است. این سلسله به طور کلی توسط محققان غربی اسطوره ای در نظر گرفته می شود. اما در چین معمولاً با محوطه اولیه عصر برنز در ارلیتو مرتبط است که در سال 1959 در هنان کاوش شد. از آنجایی که هیچ نوشتهای در اریتو یا هر مکان دیگری کاوش نشده است، هیچ راهی برای اثبات وجود سلسله شیا وجود ندارد. در هر صورت، سایت ارلیتو دارای سطحی از سازماندهی سیاسی بود که با افسانههای شیا که در متون بعدی ثبت شده است ناسازگار نبود. مهمتر از آن، سایت ارلیتو قدیمیترین شواهد را برای نخبگانی دارد که با استفاده از ظروف برنزی ریختهگری، مراسم را انجام میدادند. بعداً توسط شانگ و ژو پذیرفته شد.

Sima Qian aspired to compile history and toured around China
Sima Qian (c. 145 – c. 86 BCE) was a Chinese historian of the early Han dynasty (206 BCE – CE 220). He is considered the father of Chinese historiography for his Records of the Grand Historian, a general history of China covering more than two thousand years beginning from the rise of the legendary Yellow Emperor and the formation of the first Chinese polity to the reigning sovereign of Sima Qian's time, Emperor Wu of Han. As the first universal history of the world as it was known to the ancient Chinese, the Records of the Grand Historian served as a model for official history-writing for subsequent Chinese dynasties and the Chinese cultural sphere (Korea, Vietnam, Japan) up until the 20th century.
