Lufta e parë filloi në 1603 dhe përfundoi me një fitore safavide në 1612, kur Persia rifitoi dhe rivendosi sundimin e saj mbi Kaukazin dhe Iranin Perëndimor, i cili kishte humbur në Traktatin e Kostandinopojës në 1590. Lufta e dytë filloi në 1615 dhe përfundoi në 1618 me rregullime të vogla territoriale.
