Kuban', Luhansk Oblast, UkrainDe IJsmars, ook wel de Eerste Kuban-campagne genoemd, een militaire terugtrekking die duurde van februari tot mei 1918, was een van de beslissende momenten in de Russische Burgeroorlog van 1917 tot 1921. Aangevallen door het Rode Leger dat vanuit het noorden oprukte, van het Vrijwilligersleger, ook wel de Witte Garde genoemd, begon een terugtocht van de stad Rostov naar het zuiden richting de Kuban, in de hoop de steun te krijgen van de Don Kozakken tegen de bolsjewistische regering in Moskou.

RussiaDe grondwet van de Russische Socialistische Federatieve Sovjetrepubliek uit 1918, ook wel de Basiswet genoemd die de Russische Socialistische Federatieve Sovjetrepubliek bestuurde, beschreef het regime dat de macht overnam tijdens de Oktoberrevolutie van 1917. Deze grondwet, die kort na de Verklaring van Rechten van het werkende en uitgebuite volk, erkende formeel de arbeidersklasse als de heersende klasse van Rusland volgens het principe van de dictatuur van het proletariaat, waardoor de Russische Sovjetrepubliek de eerste constitutioneel socialistische staat ter wereld werd.
