ኦርሃን እና ሙራድ በማሪትዛ ሸለቆ ውስጥ በኤደርኔ ብዙ ቱርኮችን እና ሙስሊሞችን አስፍረዋል።ይህ ‘ቲማሮች’ እና ‘ቲማሮቶች’ የሚሉትን ቃላት መስማት ስንጀምር ነው።(አባሪውን ይመልከቱ)የቲማር ስርዓት ለሱልጣኑ ጦር የቱርክ ፈረሰኞች ምንጭ ዋስትና ሰጥቷል።ይህ ቅኝ ግዛት በደቡብ ምስራቅ አውሮፓ ዙሪያ ተፈጠረ, እሱም በመጨረሻ Rumelia በመባል ይታወቃል.ሩሜሊያ ለኦቶማን ግዛት ሁለተኛዋ የልብ ሀገር እና ማዕከላዊ ትሆናለች።በአንዳንድ መንገዶች ከአናቶሊያ የበለጠ አስፈላጊ ሆነ.ከዚህ አዲስ ምድር የሚገኘው የማዕድን እና የእንጨት ሀብቶች በኋላ ላይ ለኦቶማን ሱልጣኖች ቀሪውን አናቶሊያን ለማሸነፍ የሚያስችል ዘዴ ሰጡ።
