Bering Strait第一次カムチャッカ遠征は、アジア太平洋沿岸を探検した最初のロシア遠征であった。1724 年にピョートル大帝によって発注され、ヴィトゥス ベーリングが指揮しました。1725 年から 1731 年にかけて、これはロシア初の海軍科学遠征でした。この海峡はアジアとアメリカの間に海峡 (現在はベーリング海峡として知られている) が存在することを確認し、1732 年に第二次カムチャツカ遠征がこれに続きました。
