A Batalha de Lutos ocorreu em 794, quando o Emir de Cordoba, Hisham, enviei incursões militares contra o reino de Astúrias sob o comando dos irmãos Abd al-Karim ibn abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith e abd al-Malik ibn abd al-walid ibn mugaith.
Abd al-Karim realizou uma campanha de agressão na terra queimada contra as terras de Álava, enquanto seu irmão Abd al-Malik direcionou suas forças para o coração do reino asturiano sem encontrar resistência significativa, além da cidade de Oviedo. Ele devastou grande parte do campo, incluindo igrejas construídas por Fruvela I de Asturias. Ao retornar a al-Andalus, no vale do Camino Real Del Puerto de la Mesa, eles foram atacados pelo rei Alfonso II de Asturias e pelas forças sob seu comando. As forças asurianas emboscaram o exército muçulmano em uma parte do vale perto de Gradto, Astúrias que foram consideradas pelos historiadores como a área em torno de Los Lodos. A batalha resultou em uma vitória asturiana e a maioria do exército muçulmano invasor foi eliminado. Abd al-Malik foi morto na ação.
