A dinástia Jurchen durou de 1115 a 1234 como uma das últimas dinastias da história chinesa a anteceder a conquista mongol da China. Às vezes, também é chamado de 'Dinastia Jurchen' ou 'Jurchen Jin', porque os membros do clã Wanyan dominante eram descendentes de Jurchen.

O Jin emergiu da rebelião de Taizu contra a dinastia Liao (916-1125), que manteve a influência do norte da China até que o nascente Jin levou o Liao às regiões ocidentais, onde se tornaram conhecidos na historiografia como o Liao Ocidental. Depois de derrotar o Liao, o Jin lançou uma campanha de um século contra a dinastia Song liderada por Han (960-1279), que estava no sul da China. Ao longo de seu governo, os imperadores étnicos da dinastia Jin se adaptaram aos costumes de Han, e até fortaleceram a Grande Muralha contra os Mongóis Rising. Internamente, o Jin supervisionou vários avanços culturais, como o renascimento do confucionismo.
Depois de gastar séculos como vassalos do Jin, os mongóis invadiram sob Genghis Khan em 1211 e infligiram derrotas catastróficas nos exércitos de Jin. Após inúmeras derrotas, revoltas, deserções e golpes, eles sucumbiram à conquista mongol 23 anos depois em 1234.
