Battle of Noryang


The Battle of Noryang, fought on December 16, 1598 CE, was the final naval battle of the Imjin War between the allied fleets of the Joseon Dynasty and Ming China against the Japanese navy. Led by Admiral Yi Sun-sin and Ming commander Chen Lin, the allied forces decisively defeated the Japanese fleet, preventing their escape and securing the Korean coastline. Despite Yi Sun-sin's death during the battle, his strategic brilliance ensured a crucial victory that marked the end of Japanese ambitions in Korea, solidifying his legacy as a revered military hero.
